Gujarat, A DRY state !! hein humor ??

A sorry day for all gujaratis. 16 people died by consuming methanol in A'bad. Firstly, let me rhetorically ask this question, is Guj. really a dry state ? For ego-pampering government, yeah it is ! DRIER than Atcama desert, Chile. But, if you ask any self-respecting guy, or some of ma liquor-aficianados, or a rickshaw drivers, you just might have a different answer, and open up avenues to plethora of possibilities !! yep.. gin, rum, vodka, whiskey, scotch, brandy, you name it.. they'll have it.. I remember a friend reciting ABCDs of Alcohol !! And he had a brand name starting from A-Z, and a friend's B'day party, where we had 3 exciting flavors to chose from !!
Gandhiji, is whose fond memory we've declared Gujarat a DRY state, was "THE FATHER OF THE NATION", thence why wonlY Gujarat, ij suffering the TAG of Dry State ? Shouldn't the whole nation be "DRIED OUT" ??
And why aren't Gandhiji's other virtues being overlooked E.g. Righteousness ( go try being in a government office) or Good Handwriting (Doctors, that one is for ya) or minimalistic clothing ( o waita mint jee.. !! mallika bhabhi does that !!) or Ahimsa (nope pramod muthalik or Raj thakrey, not you, this is for ma younger brother !!)
And why are special permits given to law officials for alcohol even in Gujarat ? See ! this is where problem begins and the PERMIT is USED upto its OPTIMUM POTENTIAL !!
Firstly, Alcohol, is an inevitable part of a social fabric, you can't do without it ! It is always going to be available, dry state or not ! There are always going to be losers who wish to drown themselves in Alcohol, be it due to thier GFs or Wives or Bosses .. And where there is a Will there is a GRACE !!
people go meshuggah in Guj. over Alcohol as there is a paucity, once there is abundant flow, people might get used to it, and would react more sanely over it.
It would create more employement opportunities. And again, do we think there are going to be DRUNKARDS goin berserk all over the town ?! That rarely happens even in places where there is no ban.
Do we think there would be more accidents ? probably. But, the Actual reason for accidents is not Alcohol, but THE EASY-TO-PASS-PERMANENT-LICENSE-TESTS. You just have to carve an 8 and lo ! you got the License ..
Do we think there are going to be more Rapes ? But those perverts are going to rape anyway, even in Fully SoBer conditions...
The deaths have got a zemblainity on the government !!
There was liquor, is liquor, and would always be !! Go ask at any boys hostel !!
If liquor laws are not lifted, more poor people are going to die as they can't buyEasily availabe, Exhorbitant, hassle free liquor !!

  2. I am assuming you do not know much about the quality of living in this state because of the "no alcohol approach". I hope by deaths you consider any kind of it, i mean, are you counting the number of lives that are being saved because there is no drunk while driving case? People here fear being caught by policemen if in an intoxicated condition.
SO far as the rapists are concerned, friend, i can barely say anything about it, because rapists are sick. They suffer from a mental condition, alcohol has a very small role to play.
i just wish you would pull up stats and check how many crimes are conducted in gujarat owing to a state of drunkenness? Give credit to the government for doing whatever is possible. Its high time that we stop finding cushions to punch in whatever we think is wrong, and start seeing legitimately the flip-side as well.
